Using the Lace for Google Workspace Add-on

With the Lace for Google Workspace add-on you can schedule and join Lace meetings from Google Calendar events. After installing the add-on, you can use it in a desktop web browser

Prerequisites

In order to install and use the Lace for Google Workspace add-on, you need the following:

Install the Lace for Google Workspace add-on for all users (Google Admin)

If you are a Google Workspace admin and would like to install Lace for Google Workspace add-on for all users use the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your Google account.

  2. Navigate to the Google Workplace Marketplace.

  3. Search for Lace.

  4. Click on the Lace for Google Workspace card.

  5. Click Admin install then click Continue.

  6. Review the terms of service and select whether to install the add-on for the entire organization or certain groups or organizational units

  7. Click Finish.

If you manage your organization’s Google account and have access to the Google Admin Console, follow these resources from Google to install Lace for Google Workspace for your users.

Install the Lace for Google Workspace add-on for your own use

If you have a personal Google account use the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your Google account.

  2. Navigate to the Google Workplace Marketplace.

  3. Search for Lace.

  4. Click on the Lace for Google Workspace card.

  5. Click Install then click Continue.

  6. Review the permissions requested by the add-on and click Allow.

  7. Once installed, a new menu item for Lace will appear in the Calendar sidebar.

  8. Click on the menu item for Lace and follow the prompts to login and link your Lace account to Google.

    • Note: you might need to reload the Google Calendar page for the setup to take effect

  9. Now when you create calendar events, a menu item for Lace will appear under “Add video conferencing” dropdown.

Limitations and Troubleshooting

Multiple Google accounts

When installing and using the add-on, it is advised that you are only signed in to the Google account that you want to install the add-on for. You cannot install the add-on if you are signed in to multiple Google accounts in the same browser. One solution might be to use a private-browsing tab in which you sign-in with the desired Google account and then follow the installation steps above.
